This is a great introduction to New Zealand wilderness over easy terrain suitable for people of all ages. Depending on where the River flow allows the jet boat to beach we explore one of four beautiful areas:
McGill's Creek- follow the stream into a forest to a waterfall
Mill Creek- follow the stream into a forest to a spectacular gorge
East Branch- walk beneath towering mountains and a glacier & into a forest.
West Branch- walk beneath towering mountains to a spectacular waterfall, especially impressive after rains
Fitness level: Although suitable for most people we must point out that you need to be able bodied enough to get on and off the jet boat onto the river bank and in some cases onto uneven rocks. A guideline for this is you need to comfortably walk up and down a flight of stairs.
For those who may not be able to walk for 50 minutes, let your guide know and he can take you to an area in which you can enjoy the peace and beauty until the group returns.
Sorry but not suitable for children under 4 years
