During the calm months of July and August when Lake Wanaka is a mirror we offer you something really unique to make the most of this spectacular environment: Jet Boating on the Clutha River, the Matukituki River and Lake Wanaka.

Begin your journey jet boating upstream on the Clutha River, famous for its huge trout; onto Lake Wanaka, past islands and bays towards Treble cone Ski area and then into the Matukituki River. Our jet boats have heated hand and foot rails and big windscreens to keep you snug as you skim over winter reflections.

Jet boating on the Matukituki River during the winter is spectacular. The mountains look twice as big covered in snow, the water is crystal clear and you will experience what shallow water jet boating on Wanaka River Journeys boats is all about. AMAZING!

Winter river flow can vary so depending on where this takes us we have two options at the top of the Matukituki River, either our wilderness walk option or if we can't access this, its lunch and a hot brew at the "Matagouris", a great picnic area with even greater views of the Glaciers and Mount Aspiring.

The air is crystal clear so bring your big camera for some wonderful photo opportunities.
