The sixth annual Challenge Wanaka is almost upon us and Wanaka is quickly filling up as athletes descend on the resort to prepare for the big race on January 21. Challenge Wanaka events kick off this Sunday with the Junior Challenge Wanaka and culminate with the final event next Saturday. The 2012 event has a field of 1300 odd athletes and has attracted the largest field of pro athletes to date - pretty impressive. Wanaka River Journey's welcomes all athletes, spectators and support crew to the town and wishes all competitors the best of luck for race day. We know many of you will be looking for activities to fill in those long days during the pre-race taper period - why not take your mind off the race for a few hours and check out one of our trips - you will get to check out some of the spectacular local scenery without having to swim, cycle or run!
